A year after ProJoint built the brand, AniVatio announced its second act on 29 January 2025: ProGut Oral Gel, a gut health supplement for dogs, opening what Lisa Hilton called the brand's 2025 innovation rollout — with the product reaching shelves globally from March 2025.

The 3-in-1 idea
ProGut brought the microbiome trio — prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics — together in a single daily gel, formulated to support dogs' digestive health from the inside out. In the announcement, the formulation was positioned to support:
- stool quality and normal fecal health
- normal appetite regulation and weight management — in under- and overweight dogs alike
- digestive comfort, including bloating and excessive-eating behaviour
- skin, coat and ear condition — the visible end of the gut–skin axis
Each of those actives carries its own peer-reviewed evidence base, documented in our actives library; the formulation work was in pairing them at meaningful doses inside one stable suspension.
Why the gel mattered as much as the biotics
The announcement's quiet technical point was the delivery system. Probiotic viability is the category's open secret — live organisms rarely survive the heat and pressure of conventional formats — and the NSG-developed oral gel suspension, patent-pending at the time of the announcement, was engineered to carry live actives gently: no heat processing at the point of dosing, a precise 1ml serving, and palatability dogs accept without persuasion. As the launch put it, dogs don't know any of this — they just love the taste.

ProGut extended the pattern ProJoint set: research-backed actives, UK GMP manufacturing, and delivery technology owned by the group. It would go on to earn its own milestones within the year — a PetQuip Awards finalist nod and a sold-out first production run — and the 3-in-1 gut formula became a fixture of the range that later crossed to the US.
