This post is part of our news archive: a retrospective record of Natural Science Group and AniVatio milestones, written after the events it describes. AniVatio is NSG's consumer companion-animal brand — owned by the group, with all of its nutrition technology developed in-house.
When ProJoint launched in 2024, the joint-supplement shelf was already crowded. What AniVatio brought to it wasn't another tub of powder — it was a different way of getting actives into an animal: an oral gel delivery system, developed by NSG's formulation practice and since patented, designed so a precise dose can be given straight to the gums or mixed into food, without the crumbled-tablet-in-cheese ritual that defeats so many supplement routines.

What made it different
- The delivery technology. The gel format — deliberately low-fat, low-protein and low-calorie — was engineered for absorption, precise dosing and genuine ease of administration, including for cats, the species that defeats most supplement formats. It became the technical foundation the whole AniVatio range was built on.
- An evidence-led recipe. ProJoint was formulated around undenatured type II collagen, one of the best-studied modern joint actives in dogs, with the formulation and dosing philosophy documented across our actives library.
- Palatability treated as science. Ahead of launch the formulation went through palatability testing across hundreds of dogs and cats — because, as every page of this site repeats, a supplement an animal refuses is a supplement that does nothing.
- Formats for real households. Oral gel first, with highly palatable soft chews alongside — the same recipe philosophy in the format each pet and owner actually sticks with.
Why it mattered to NSG
AniVatio is where NSG's science meets real owners at retail, and ProJoint was the proof case: technology developed in our labs, manufactured to human-nutraceutical standards, and sold under a consumer brand the group owns outright. The lessons from those first two years — what owners reorder, what formats survive real kitchens, what evidence questions arrive in the inbox — flowed straight back into the group's formulation work, and set up the milestones that followed: the Chewy US launch and the Vetio UK manufacturing partnership.
Frequently asked questions
What is ProJoint?
ProJoint is AniVatio's flagship joint supplement for dogs and cats — an oral gel (with soft-chew options) built on NSG-developed delivery technology and formulated around undenatured type II collagen to support joint comfort and mobility.
Who makes ProJoint?
AniVatio is Natural Science Group's consumer companion-animal brand: NSG owns the brand and developed all of its nutrition technology in-house, including the patented oral gel delivery system.
Why an oral gel instead of tablets?
Because delivery decides whether a supplement works in practice: a gel can be dosed precisely, given directly or mixed with food, and accepted by pets — including cats — that refuse tablets. Delivery technology is a core part of how NSG formulates.
